art, earth  and  fire is a commercial trade mark, but even more than that, an affirmation of the creative authenticity of these two, this couple of plastic artists’ self expression, through, their use, among other materials, of ceramics, in its great abundance of varieties. art, earth and  fire, is a global idea in which art is the creative principal, and fire, the ultimate ingredient of the Element of Nature in the ceramic process: Earth (Potter’s earth), Water (Moisture), Air (Drying) and Fire (Firing). Because it units the four main elements, God created Man from Clay, so offering him the deepest form of universal expression: art

 

  

The art, earth and  fire Workshop is in the building which belongs to the TEAR Artists and Arts and Crafts Association, in Reguengos de Monsaraz, some forty kilometres from the city of Évora and  fifteen from the medieval Town of Monsaraz, on the widest stretch of the Alqueva Dam.

 

The Company is equipped with the most sophisticated apparatus for working in the art and craft of ceramics, in a manner technically quite apart from other similar concerns in the region, in view of the traditional methods and exacting quality control it has adopted. 

Over the course of its years of activity art, earth and fire, or rather its managers, have been distinguished either individually, or in groups with other members of the TEAR Association,, with various prizes or trophies both national and international, the following being some of the most outstanding:

• National I.E.F.P Arts and Crafts Competitions of the - Alentejo Region - 1992, 1993 and 1996.
• International Trophy for Quality, Paris - 1997
• World Quality Commitment Award, Madrid - 1998
• Golden America Award for Quality & Excellence, Geneva - 2003
