She has made her style prominent. It is characterised by the transformation of pieces which she makes on the traditional potter’s wheel, by modelling them or using applications which endow them with singular aesthetic harmony. |

The final appearance is the result of a parallel process which this artist develops through research into formulas specific to glazing at high temperatures, the bases of which are metal oxides. |

Special reference should be made to the success she has achieved with her blood red glazings, which due to their difficult execution makes them so unusual and sought after. Consul the Lines Red Glazing Blue Glazing Amphoros |

Besides expressing herself through Watercolours or Drawing, the relationship Maria José Cardoso de Souza has with Painting is still through ceramics, on beautiful plates painted in cobalt blue, in the hunting theme of the Alentejo: Partridges, rabbits, hares, etc, come to life in her hands, which never fail to create excellent new work each day. |

Other special features are the softly polychromatic Estremoz styles, inspired by the Baroque of the end of the XVII century, or the simplicity of the countryside translated through the olive branches painted in cobalt blue. Consult the Lines Watercolours Drawings Estremoz Olive trees
